After intense deliberation and a very thorough investigation into the advantages and limitations to a variety of topics, I have in fact returned to my original idea of digging deep into the root of the progression of children in the horror film genre. I have not quite been able to narrow my general topic to as specific a field as I would like as of yet, but after notable time spent in the library searching through different journals and reviews I feel confident that the amount of information available is going to afford this project the possibility of success.
Obviously, I will be using the films themselves as a primary sources but in additon to which I have found a number of critical reviews as well as cast and crew interviews to incorporate. Journal entries are limited but the ones that I have come across have been very thorough and can be applied to my topic fairly easily. I am also considering developing a survey of the horror films that I choose to keep in my paper to aid me in identifying how the masses would rate the varying fear factor levels in these movies.
I think that these sources and the strategy I have of incorporating them is going to create a fluidity in my paper without sacrificing the needed support.
